Last week 15 September, the art collection of Maya Angelou was presented for auction at Swann Galleries in New York. Forty four works of art were sold valuing $1,289,450 million dollars. Among the great black master artists in Ms. Angelou’s collections were serigraphs by Jacob Lawrence, collage works and watercolor drawings in red by Romare Bearden, beautiful lithographs by Elizabeth Catlett, a wonderful painting by John Biggers and a quilt by Faith Ringgold. Also in Ms. Angelou’s collection were paintings by contemporary artists Jonathan Green, Charley Palmer, Alonzo Adams, and James Mckissic. All can be seen here at Swann Galleries.

Sneak Peek: "Fall" — The Movie
Working with Adobe Flash has been a hobby of mine for some time. After seeing fine art used in interactive movies I was hooked. The movie below is based on an original painting called “Fall”. Everything in the movie with the exception of the sky and the church is from the original painting. It’s not complete but its getting close. Enjoy!!
