Archival Art - Ball Point Pen Pieces

16 Nov 2015 by yvette watson

Recently I discovered the ball point pens that I’ve used to make several pieces of art and more recently the African Attire collage drawings are not archival. Have enjoyed the ease of using the pens for art and sketching but discovering the work will fade over time has prompted me to make immediate changes. After experimenting with black ink and pencil, have found the combination is similar to the look and feel of the ball point pen—Praise God!! —so the series will continue. Needless to say the pieces made with ball point pens will no longer be for sale and the recent piece completed in September for a Client in this style is already being redone with archival medium and will replace the collage drawing made with ball point pen. Only what we do for Christ will last for eternity but producing and selling archival work is important for so many reasons, the most important for me being integrity, trust, caring about collectors and about the work we do.
