Ballou High School Murals
May 2014 I received notice that the designs I submitted for the Ballou High School Art Project were selected to be apart of what will be a flagship school in Washington, DC. What makes this project special is the school’s history. Students in Ward 8, like many other urban communities across America face many challenges to getting an education. The DC government and community leaders have committed to investing in the future potential of the youth in this area by building a state of the art high school. I’m thankful to be among the artists selected to contribute to the project. The two murals I’m working on are 20ft x 10ft and 18ft x 8ft. My hope, God willing is that the work will inspire and encourage students for generations to reach higher and go farther.
