Thought it would be nice to share these sketches for piece #4 in the Couples Series. It’s not the norm but occasionally will have to explore different possibilities until a sketch feels right. You can see the first sketch top left was the one that worked best.

This painting and the others in the “To Work” series are progressing nicely. At this stage alkyd paints are used to refine the piece. You can see “Winter Commute” when it was “blocked in “ with an acrylic underpainting posted here. Other paintings from the series are posted in the January Issue of YW News.
